What was once the original railway yard land was returned in 1995 and has now been developed into Rotorua Central.  The site consists of approximately 120 retail and commercial outlets. Providing over 53,000 sq metres of gross floor area each retail and commercial outlet holds a tenancy agreement with Pukeroa Oruawhata Holdings Limited.

Established on the site of the former Telecom Works Depot / Municipal Garages, Trade Central’s redevelopment started in 2010 with initially Mitre 10 Mega and has grown to include Kmart, Stihl Shop, Petstock, Bed Bath & Beyond, No 1 Shoe Warehouse and other retail outlets. The site will provide retail tenancies for up to 15 separate tenancies occupying a gross floor area of over 18,000m2.
