Malcolm is an original Trustee and has been Chairman of the Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust for the last 33 years.  Over this time the Trust has grown its asset base to $225m with portfolios covering commercial, residential property, and most recently the tourism Spa sector.

In 2006 Malcolm was awarded an Officer of N.Z. Order of Merit for services to Maori.  He is Chairman, Trustee/executive member and/or Director of many non Pukeroa Trusts, companies and authorities and in particular the Te Arawa Federation of Maori Authorities, Ngati Whakaue Education Endowment Trust and First Sovereign Trust Ltd.

David has 25 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, Trustee and Director. He has been a Pukeroa Oruawhata Trustee for the last 14 years providing valuable experience in law, governance, investments and strategy. He is well connected with key politicians and CEO’s in Wellington as well as other Iwi organisations.

David’s Directorships include Lotto NZ (2016 – current), The Public Trust (2013 to November 2015) Chairman – Governance and Remuneration, Te Puia NZMACI (2015 – current), Ngati Ruanui Group (2008 to 2010) Chairman – Ngati Ruanui Group Management Ltd, Te Arawa Management Limited (3 years – 2006 to 2008) as Chairman. David also worked for Fletcher Challenge Canada (Vancouver and Victoria) in the in-house legal team and was seconded to the New Zealand Securities Commission.

Monty has been serving Ngati Whakaue and the Rotorua community for more than 25 years.  Monty is currently Kaumatua for Ngati Whakaue and Te Arawa and is employed at the Rotorua Lakes Council as Cultural Advisor to the Chief Executive and Mayor.  Past President of the Rotorua Sunrise Rotary Club, former Teacher and Principal.  Founder of ‘Creating Moments of Magic’  which was a finalist in the 2009 NZ Events Business of the Year.

Monty holds the position of Chairman on Te Pukenga Koeke o Te Arawa, and Chairs the Education Subcommittee for the Ngati Whakaue Education Endowment Trust.  Monty is a Trustee on Mangorewa-Kaharoa Trust and Kauae Cemetery Trust Board.

Tina Ngatai

Tina was born and raised in Koutu, Rotorua and has 4 children and 7 mokopuna.  She holds an MBA through Waikato University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business – Maori Development from Auckland University.  She has held several senior positions within the Maori Land Court and the Maori Trustee.

She is currently self-employed providing management services to Māori Entities and is currently working with Trusts in Te Whanau-A-Apanui and Ngāti Pukenga as well as the Te Arawa rohe.

She sits as Chair of Manaaki Ora Trust (Te Utuhina Manaakitanga and Tipu Ora) in order to give back to the vulnerable people in the community.  She also holds a trustee role on Rotoiti 15 Trust and Onuku Maori Lands Trust.

Tina is passionate about Maori land development and the creation of wealth in order to deliver services to her people and attempts to balance what she sees as the key drivers for governance of Māori entities, being measured against Culture / Social / Economic and Environmental imperatives.  She is proud of the contribution that the Trust is making to the Health and Wellbeing of Ngāti Whakaue tāngata whenua via grants, housing and its commitment to the community of Rotorua.  This is due to its commercial success and the efforts of the trustees who have come before her. The extension of the Health Grants to include descendants of the six koromatua o Ngāti Whakaue is a clear example of our commitment to the growth of our people.

Tanira Kingi

Appointed to the Trust in 2016. Other Te Arawa board appointments include committee of management member of Ngati Whakaue Tribal Lands, chair of Whakaue Farming Ltd, chair of the Te Arawa Primary Sector Group, director of Te Arawa Management Ltd and trustee of Manaaki Ora Trust. Professional background is a researcher in agricultural economics and development and is currently a Research Leader in primary industry systems with Scion Research Ltd. He has been an advisor to regional and central government agencies on Māori land development and was a member of the 2005 and 2015 Te Ture Whenua Māori Ministerial Advisory Groups. Tanira has a PhD in agricultural economics and development from the Australian National University and a MApplSc(Hons) in agricultural systems management from Massey University.

Being Rotorua born and bred, it was only natural for me to find a way to contribute to my iwi tupu using skills that I have acquired over time. I have a passion for my people, Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga, kaupapa Māori development, business, education, science and the media industry. I hold a number of leadership roles which require well-honed people skills, effective communication, well-informed decision making, vision and sound financial management.

I was made a Director of Pukeroa Oruawhata Holdings Limited and Pukeroa Properties NO 2 Limited as part of the POT Directorship Programme in 2015 and have now taken a seat as a result of the 2018 election, at the Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust board table. My time as a Director provided a great opportunity to learn, understand and contribute positively to the kaupapa. Although I have achieved many things at a local, regional, national and international level, my highest achievement is being married to my wife Teri, and being father to our children, Daniel and Isaac.

Alec has retired from continual trusteeship of the Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust, having been one of the original trustees appointed in 1981. So as not to lose the many years of knowledge and experience of both the building/construction industry and Trustee and Directorship capability, Alec continues as a Director on the company Pukeroa Lakefront Holdings Limited – tasked with the Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa development.

Kiriwaitingi was born and raised in Te Koutu and is a mokopuna of the McRae and (Tokoaitua) Morrison whanau of Ngati Whakaue.

Kiriwaitingi initially practised as a lawyer but has successfully transitioned into managing Maori commercial assets.  She is currently the CEO of Maori Investments Limited – an asset holding company based in Kawerau, and holds a number of governance appointments including Putauaki Trust (Chair), Ngati Whakaue Tribal Lands (Committee of Management), Rotorua Economic Development Ltd (Director) and Auckland International Airport (Future Director).

Jeanna is the commercial manager for Poutama Trust managing the trusts finances and investments as well as delivering advice to Māori businesses nationally. She also owns her own business along with her husband Jim, the NZ Sports Academy. Is a trustee of Manaaki ora Trust and committee member of Māori in Tourism Rotorua.

Peter is and has been an integral part of the Pukeroa team for the last 21 years (14 years as our banker).  Peter was fulfilling the role of General Manager for 6 years as our Client Manager at Deloitte, until his engagement as our full time General Manager in September 2016.

Alex resides in Rotorua and is a father of three children, Matahiapo-Waimarie, Terry and Manawakurariki.

Alex is the lead client service partner for the Pukeroa Oruawhata Group leading a team to meet the needs of the Groups financial function. He is also a director on Maori Investments Limited, a Trustee for Rotorua Continuing Care Trust (Whare Aroha) and board member for Heart Kids New Zealand Incorporated.

Having worked as Accountant Assistant for Deloitte Rotorua since October 2015, Lee joined the HPSSL team in October 2016 as Property Team Administrator for the Pukeroa Group of companies. Lee and her husband Kevin have two adult tamariki, three awesome mokopuna and whakapapa to Ngati Unu, Ngati Maniapoto and Ngati Pikiao.
